Summer Kickoff Party Ideas?!

Question: Summer Kickoff Party Ideas?
I know it's early, but I'm planning a summer kickoff party. My parents are a little iffy about parties, so I want to ask them ahead of time. I think they will say yes though because we will be staying out of their way instead of running around the house. Anyways, the last day of school will be a half day, so we will get home at around 12:15-12:30, then the party will start at 3. (Or around 3 depending on what my parents say) We will probably have a waterballoon fight and toss around a beachball or whatever. But I need more ideas for activities and stuff we can do. (By the way we're all 13.) I will probably invite like 8 of my closest friends. Then we will have a barbecue with hot dogs, hamburgers, and maybe some watermelon. Then we might watch a chick flick of some sort because one of my best friends have a huge movie projector, so it would be really cool if we could borrow it and project it on the side of my house. Then we will have a campfire, tell scary stories, roast marshmellows and make smores, and we will camp out in my backyard with our huge tent. (We have woods and a big yard so I'm just going to put the tent close to the woods but not in them because of all the ticks and such) Anyways, I need some ideas of stuff to do to make it a good party, and a good chick flick we could watch. Thanks for any help! :D

That sounds like a well thought out party that should be a great time! to add to it: try making a fun obstacle course for the yard--going from activity to activity. (Like carrying a plastic fish between your knees and running to a kiddie pool filled with water and having to sit on a balloon to break it in the pool--have some floating in there or switch out the fish for the balloon to carry between knees).
Have jump-roping, hopping, dribbling a ball, balance beam walking, cartwheels, etc.

Have a pass the sponge game: 2 teams: each lined up behind one another. Each team has a bucket of water and big sponge in front of first person and an empty container further ahead than the water bucket. On Go..teams soak sponge and pass it overhead or between legs to person behind them trying to keep as much water as possible, because last person has to run up to empty container and squeeze out water to reach a line that's been taped on there. ..person then takes 1st position in line and everyone moves back. Game ends when first team reaches the "fill line" or after a couple runs, team that got the most water collected.

Marbles in tubs game: fill 2 plastic tubs with water for 2 teams and fill with 100 marbles>>guests have to put foot in cold water and try to grab as many marbles for "team" ...no hands allowed and they have 1 min each to try.

Get a fun slip and slide....they can be fun for any age :D
Have a permanent marker for everyone to sign the beachball (keep as a souvenir)
Can play volleyball, kickball, Frisbee, croquet

Movies: Marley & Me
13 Going on 30
She's the Man
27 Dresses
The Last Song

(Be sure you set those things out that keeps bugs away--have some good repellent, too)
