Vintage horror movie theme for 17th birthday ideas?!

Question: Vintage horror movie theme for 17th birthday ideas?
The party will be in late March or early April. I want it to be in the 40s/50s time frame so that it's not too gory. Any ideas?

Well, only if your guests can handle old movies but I myself PREFER the horror movies of the 1930's into 40s---- three of the films that I will list were made in the 1930s but were rereleased because of their classic status:

Frankenstein (1931) ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001843/) , Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933) ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0024368/) (The Bride of Frankenstein (1935), The Wolfman (1941), Cat People (1942), I Walked with a Zombie (1942), The Body Snatcher (1945), Bedlam (1945

If that Is Not Enough!!! Go to IMDB.com and look up, The Leopard Man, The Curse of the cat People. The Invisible Man, Son of Frankenstein

But I am doing my best to consider Visuals.

I love your idea!It already sounds like a lot of fun! Okay I would suggest 40s because they are lot creepier but also more amazing. First have everyone dress up. Old movies playing in the background off a projector onto a wall. Have lots of food already on the tables. You could do a murder mystery sort of thing. Or just take a bunch of classic horror movies from the forties and incorporate them into youroverall party. The blob!is a great movie I think its from the 40s! I hope this helps a little bit
