What is a quick & delicious dessert to make for a group?
I'm going to a party today & need to make a dessert, but don't have much time. I want to MAKE something (not buy a pre-made dessert). Any ideas besides the basic brownies or cookies?? Thank you!!

Here is a recipe for a cake I know will be delicious and the talk of the party. Trust me, when i make it....I get asked to make it for the next event. 45 people? Not sure how many cakes you will need maybe 3? Anyway you will need the following for each box of cake mix you decide to make.
1 box of Strawberry cake mix
1 tub of cool whip (almost all the way thawed)
1 box of instant vanilla pudding
and 1 bag of frozen strawberries (thaw out in fridge the night before-whatever u do, make sure these are thawed all the way)
Make cake and let cool
Spread thick layer of vanilla pudding all over top of cake
Top entire cake with THAWED strawberries
Then top with lots of cool whip
Pat with spatula to make pretty (sticking up things)
Thats it!!!!!!! Easy! Easy! Easy!
Here is a great hint. Go to the dollar store or grocery store and by a roaster tin pan (the kind you can trash afterward) Roaster (meaning the height is almost double a regular size cake pan) this is very important, because once your cake rises it will almost come to the top of a regular pan and you will not have room for the goodies!

Paula Deen makes 2 version of her chocolate trifle - one with toffee and one with her homemade chocolate and/or caramel sauce. You can buy a premade chocolate cake and then build the rest of the ingredients around that (although baking a boxed choco cake takes no time at all). No one will be the wiser. Depending on which one you might like, use Cool Whip, buy pre-made fudge ice cream toppings and/or caramel, etc. Very easy and everyone loves it.
Angel Delight Crunch - a sort of quick cheesecake.
1. Pie dish, digestive biscuits crushed up and mixed with a little melted butter. This is the base which you press into the pie dish.
2. Make Angel Delight (any flavour) according to packet instructions and spread over the biscuit base. Refrigerate.
3. Maybe decorate with strawberries or chocolate or coloured strands or Smarties or whatever.
4. Have fun.

My personal favourite is Queen of Puddings, but all are truly excellent!
Blueberry Peach Crumble Recipe
4-6 peaches
1 box of blueberries Fresh or frozen
1 lemon
I teaspoon of cinnamon
1/3 to ? cup of butter
1 cup brown sugar
? cup flour
? cup rolled oats (if you don’t have rolled oats then just replace with another ? cup flour)
Peel and cut your peaches into morsels. Add them to a bowl with the blueberries. Add approximately the juice of half a lemon, the cinnamon and ? cup of brown sugar. Mix well.In another bowl combine flour and oats and sugar and add the butter. With your hands combine it all so that it makes a crumble topping. Add your fruit to your pie plate (glass) and cover the fruit with the flour/oat topping. Make sure that all the fruit is well covered. Pop it in the oven at 350 for 40 minutes. Let it cool for a good half hour and then dig in. It is so simple but you will be going back to finish the dish. When I make one- it never last more than 2 days.
Don’t FORGET- you can substitute the blueberries and peach for any other combination. IN the fall apples are amazing in a crumble. Plums and nectarines are good. Mixed berries. Strawberry Rhubarb.
This is my husband's favorite. It's easy to make, and delicious to eat....everybody who's had it loves it. The frosting tastes like fudge once it's hardened.

4 T cocoa
#3
2 eggs

1 T vinegar
1 tsp soda

Frosting:
? lb margarine
4 T cocoa
6 T milk

Add #2 and 3 to #1 and mix. Pour into greased cookie sheet (11 x 16). Bake at 375 degrees for 20 min.
Combine all frosting ingredients (except nuts) and beat until smooth. Stir in nuts. Have frosting ready to put on cake IMMEDIATELY UPON REMOVAL FROM OVEN. Use a large spoon to gob it on, then a knife to lightly spread it.
PS....Start mixing the frosting as soon as you put cake in the oven...by the time you're finished mixing the frosting your cake is gonna be ready to remove from oven, and you need to get the frosting on the cake right away so it'll melt.
