Any 11th birthday party ideas for girls?!

Question: Any 11th birthday party ideas for girls?
I'm hosting my daughters 11th birthday party at my house in April, and I'm trying to stay ahead of the game. Also, my daughter is inviting 3 other girls, so counting her that's four kids. I only really want to spend $25 per child. She wants to have a theme and a sleepover, but she can't really think of any themes that aren't a bit cheesey, even for her.
One of the girls is a bit shy, so we would prefer not to have any video tapes of them being a bit silly, and if so, the parents can't be in the room watching and supervising.
Dresses and skirts are a definite "NO!", because most of the guests (counting the b-day girl herself) feel perfectly comfortable in a t-shirt and jeans.
It shouldn't really be a sleep outside party or anything too dirty, because the birthday girl is a bit squeamish when it comes to bugs and stuff like that. THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!

P.S. One of the girl positively hates pink and is allergic to chocolate.

P.P.S. Does anybody know where we can get mini pinatas? My daughter wishes to have a small pinata for each girl.

Answers:

You can make your own pinatas using paper mache (you definitely have enough time to do it)..can use balloons to shape the paper on and then pop the balloon. Here is how>>

There are also videos online...youtube.com to show you how to put one together. You decide how big/small you want it to be and what to fill them with.

Theme ideas: well, Easter is April 24th this year...and coincidentally this is the year of the Rabbit in the Chinese new year...why not make a cute theme around the Easter idea?
Deviled eggs
Ham and cheese melts (grilled sandwiches)
Carrot stix and dip
Toasted breads cut out in rabbit shapes and serve with a topping for an appetizer
Serve treats in baskets filled with colorful Easter grass around it (can put treats in glass bowls so color shows)...or use a tray.

Make pinatas to look like big colorful Easter eggs (easy to do with balloons)..add crepe paper fringe, spray glitter, jewels, etc, ribbons to decorate or have ribbons trailing from pinata--fill with Easter peeps and candies...non-chocolate for the allergic guest.

This idea is cute, too: orange jelly eggs in clear plastic with bit of green tissue at top for greens made to look like carrots:

Have the girls play games like Apples to Apples or Uno or any board game they enjoy.

Send them on an Easter egg hunt....get colored plastic eggs, fill with assorted things...coins, candy, Skittles, peeps, lip balm...and some with "notes". They can open as they find them...but those who have the notes have to do what it says: then in the "main area" (yard or party room, whichever) have the supplies they might need to use to do these things. (For instance, a jump rope if note says "jump rope 5 times")....or "bounce a ball 10 times"....you decide what note has to say...but girls must return to middle to follow instruction before continuing hunt...and everyone else must stop, too, to watch and wait before finishing the egg hunt. You can make 1 color egg for each girl, or you can write their names on the eggs so gifts and notes are balanced out.

(other notes can say "say ABC's as fast as you can"---"grab a balloon and sit on it til it pops"

1. Have a list of household items, and get the girls go door to door (with you!!!) asking for them.
2. Do a mystery party! online print outs are every where!
3. Sleepover
4. Challenge! Split them into 2 teams get them to do mini challenges (piggy back races, etc.)
5. Masquerade Ball!

Hope it helps!

Planning a children's party can be a little overwhelming... even scary. After all, throwing a great party is something your child will remember for a long lime. On the other hand, if the party bombs they will NEVER forget it.

The easiest way to ensure a successful party is to build it around one central theme.

A theme will allow you to integrate all the different elements of the party, it will point you in the right decorating direction, and it will help you plan your activities. Having a theme is essential.
