Any ideas for a cold covered dish for a party?!

Question:

Any ideas for a cold covered dish for a party?

There is a party Saturday and everyone is suposed to bring something to eat. I figured I would cook Friday night. My husband just informed me that we will be going Friday night and a bunch of us are crashing in tents. HELLO! I dont have a coleman stove! Any suggestions on a good cold dish I could prepare in the backyard campground?

Answers:
Make a platter

Cheese, salami, crackers and grapes!!!

get a bunch of crackers and put tuna on some of them, chicken on others, cheese on some, and add on some cucumbers and celery on the side with ranch sauce. or you could use bread instead of crackers.

spaghetti salad.
2 tomatoes, 1 onion, 1cucumbers,whole bottle va italian dressing(don't use light it sucks),1lb spag noodles, and sprinkle with lots of parmesan cheese, and 1/2 bottle of salad supreme, it's in the seasonings isle at the grocerystore!

Make up some quick tunafish sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches and spread lightly. Cut into shapes with a cookie cutter and put on a pretty lil dish. :) quick and easy fingerfood

a deli tray, veggie tray, friut tray, seven layer dip, or any dip, jello, cake,i mean thers alot.

Starkist tuna creations Hickory Smoked flavor, buy a couple packets and mix it up with some miracle whip. Serve with crackers, its sooooooo good!!!! and super easy.

Everyone loves pasta salad! Its easy, great and requires no heating or refrigeration if you dont add cheese.

You just boil some noodles, throw in your favorite veggies, and some italian dressing!

You can always make chicken packets and cook them over the campfire if your worried about a stove. Actually campfire cooked food is awsome, plus it's fun!

Go get some frozen strawberries and some pound cake and serve strawberry shortcake.

You could also take some lettuce salad and add some ham and turkey to it and eggs.

Hymmmmmmmmmmmm.....maybe bring salad makings and put some pecans in it to make it really special...oh...and also pasta salad would be a great idea. Or....fruit salad?

pickel roll-ups......buy buddig corn beef cream cheese and whole pickels....dry the pickels and let cream cheese sit out for at least 1/2 hr. to soften. place 3-4 pieces of meat orer laping each other on counter and spread cream chees generously on meat...roll pickels into the meat and refrigerate. when ready to eat cut into slices and enjoy.

I would make some coleslaw or potato salad on Thursday night or Friday afternoon before you go and keep it in a cooler - I personally think those items taste better the day after you make them anyway!

Make a pasta salad. Mix one 12 box of cooked tri color rotini (cooled) with cooked and cooled broccoli pieces, cherry or grape tomatoes, small pitted black olives, cubed mozzarella cheese and sliced salami or pepperoni. Toss with an 8 oz. bottle of zesty italian dressing. My family loves this and it never goes to waste, it makes a nice amount, keep and serve cool. You can make this ahead of time and keep in the cooler.

cold cuts
easy, clean and versatile....bring rolls, mayo/mustard, too.

ham, cheese, and craccers

Guacamole and tortilla chips. Who doesn't like guacamole? Is also easy to prepare!

fruit salad

Canned fruit cocktail (enough for the amount of people you have)
walnuts
cinnimon
cool whip

Place the fruit cocktail drained in a bowl mix with walnuts and cool whip smooth out the top and sprinkle with cinnimon. If you are making right before you serve it you can add bananas but if it going to sit over night I wouldnt cuz they turn brown.

Box of Jello pistachio pudding tub of cool whip bag of mini marshmallows, can of dole pineapple tidbits, drained and some chopped walnuts, about 3/4 cup. Mix it all together and refrigerate for an hour or so, YUMMY!!!

pasta salad
or you get have a plate of cheese and pepperoni and crackers

Here is something really really easy and gets better in taste when set overnight or a day or two...

Sliced Tomatos, sliced cucumbers, and sliced sweet onion. Pour Wishbone's Italian dressing over it and let it sit. It's a perfect way to use those garden abundances of yours or that friend who keeps pawning the goods to you.
