How can I make a pirate ship for a halloween party?!

Question:

How can I make a pirate ship for a halloween party?

Answers:
How big do you want it?

If you have a trampoline it would make a good deck.

I recommend using fabric in a woody-brown color. and stakes to make your ship-shape....no pun intended. You can use your trampoline as a deck for your "crew" whether it is pirates/sailors/skeletons..... If you have a good size tree near where you want your ship use a pulley system to rig up a line for you to hoist your sail.

You can make a plank for boarding the ship by simply laying a ladder to the edge of the the trampoline. Simply lay a sheet of plywood cut to fit the ladder. You will need to secure it some how to your ladder. I recommend drilling holes in the plywood and tieing it to your ladder.

You could make anchors out of styrofoam poster board and buy extras to draw cannons on and hang from your boat to add realistic details.

My brain and the internet.

It depends how big you want it. You can make a small one for a window display out of construction paper. A ship big enough to put people in would be cool made of of a child's wading pool draped in black fabric, with a broomstick mast and a pirate flag and sail.

someway out of cardboard boxes

first get yourself a skull and crossbones black flag. Then you will want to spray paint some plywood gray and black like wood grain. As far as constructing it - I am not skilled in this area but you could definitely cut out peices like a ship if you are skilled that way or know any one who is.. I saw a really good pirate ship as a Halloween prop on a website somewhere. Look it up on the internet.... google it maybe you can find something. Some full size skeletons in it would look cool once you construct it. Decorate it with the spider web gauze they sell and put a red or purple spot light on it for a nice eery effect. You can do it. check out he web site below for a photo of one
