is it OK to send an RSVP reminder?!

Question: Is it OK to send an RSVP reminder?
I sent my baby shower invitations out at the beginning of February, and gave people until Feb. 28 to RSVP. The problem is that 12 people (out of 40) have still not responded. I know they still have a few more days, but I can't help but feel anxious, hehe. The shower is march 13.
So. my question is- would it be rude to send those people a reminder via- facebook? Thanks in advance! :)

Answers:

I would make it generic - Hey, to those who replied, thanks, but if you haven't replied yet, please get back to me if you are coming.

YES, it's perfectly fine.

I found it very useful.

Yeah it could make you seem greedy or something.
I know you are just excited about having a baby and all but they may not see it that way.
Still 28 people is a pretty big haul.
Congratulation.

The people who are hosting should call these people a few days before the shower to see what the deal is.

It is perfectly fine to send a reminder. I do it when I throw parties. Just a light "don't forget to RSVP by Feb 28!"

No go ahead

can i come?

Yes it's rude especially before the RSVP date.

DO NOT directly contact your guests unless this is a function where you will be serving a catered sit-down meal. If the food will be buffet or family-style, just use your best judgment as to how many are coming.

P.S. You're not supposed to host your own shower...it's always rude to ask for gifts on your own behalf. A friend or family member ought to be hosting.

If the restaurant requires an exact head-count, the HOST of the party ought to contact the people who have not responded - NOT the guest of honor.
