How to host a letter of invitation (formal) to a newly married couple?
very quiet homely people, buffet luncheon
Answers:
Are you inviting only the married couple? or is it going to be more like a party?
If you are only inviting the married couple you could use this:
Dear Mr. & Mrs. (first name) (last name)
Congratulations on your recent marriage. In honor of your nuptials I would like to invite you to a luncheon to celebrate.
The luncheon will be a formal occasion on the (day) of (month) at (time) o'clock. We will be serving a buffet.
Please let me know by the (day) of (month) if you will be able to attend. We look forward to the honor of your company when celebrating your marriage.
Sincerely,
________________
If you are hosting this with your husband sign the letter Mr and Mrs. (first name) (last name). If it is you and another friend use both full names and place one name directly under the other.
If you plan to invite other people I recommend sending them a different invite then the one to the married couple. You should definitely send the couple a hand written letter. It will be a thoughtful touch and show them you care by taking the time to write. Do not just call.
For the other guests. I will give you to version one for you and your husband if applicable. If you and a friend are hosting simply use both full names complete with a MR/MRS/MISS/MS
I recommmend using a flowing script and centering the wording.
This is if you and your husband are hosting. Simply change the names, date, time, and adress to suit.
Mr. & Mrs. John Doe

to celebrate the wedding of
Mr. & Mrs. Jack Black
on the Fouth of July
at 10 o'clock in the morning
for a buffet luncheon

If you want people to RSVP. I recommend including a prestamped postcard that simply says
Please respond by the first of July.
______will be attending
_____will not be attending.
Postcards that are prestamped make it easier and more likely people will respond in a timely manner. Plus postards are cheaper and save on paper waste. Make sure you address the postcard before sending it with the invitation.
I would recommend checking out this site

They have some tips which you might find helpful. You might also want to look at the different sites that sell invitations. Some have consultants who can help you work up invitations.
I hope this helps!!

I am an event/party planner.
Just write them a regular letter, stating that you would enjoy their presence for an informal buffet luncheon.
Also, you may want to add a note at the end congratulating them on their recent nuptuials.
How homely?
