In the foodservice industry it's called RTU or RTE ready-to-use or ready-to-eat. Finished products that travel well and can be eaten with little or no extra effort.
Think immersion blender. It is the best invention. You can use it for making smoothies, gravy, soups, dips, etc. I absolutely LOVE mine from Kitchen Aid.
