The first thing you need to ask, before you actually decide on an event, is what things do the people who you will invite to your event enjoy. So, who are your supporters, what do they like, what will they enjoy, and what will catch their attention?

Any type of sport event usually works well... and seen as though you're a volleyball team, a mini volleyball competion with all your team's family and friends entering teams could be a realiable fundraiser. Charge people a small entry fee and then use other fundraisers throughout the event to make more money... Like have a raffle, sell food and drinks (Yes these events always end up turning into great parties so definitely sell food and drinks), have bets, ask for sponsorships, get businesses to advertise etc.

If you don't want to do a volleyball event then what about a Dodgeball compo, or a mache golf day.

For loads of different fundraising ideas you should visit Rewarding Fundraising Ideas. You'll find some great advice on running many different profitable fundraising ideas!

There is one non-event fundraising idea that I suggest to anyone and everyone and thats the Magazine Fundraiser. This is one of the best fundraisers that anyone could do. Currently there's a Rugby Football club in Texas raising over $25,000. Now thats worthwhile. Check it out at Rewarding Fundraising Ideas to find out more about running one!

Hi Morgan!

Host a Basketball Tournament – This is great for a sports team . A local group raised over $500 dollars doing this and had a lot of fun, too! Each team paid $10 to get enter. One team had four generations on it! Most teams consisted of family members. Of course, you can sell hot dogs, chips, sodas and popcorn purchased at your local discount retailer.

Flocking – This is so much fun! People purchase “insurance”, say for $40 or you can take a chance and have a “flock” of flamingos (or any other bird) land on your yard. Without insurance you have to pay to have them removed. It’s good to do this within a “band family” or church group that really knows each other. It can become a great tradition over the years.

Rent-A-Volleyball Player – Have the team do appropriate chores for people, such as, cutting lawns, washing windows, babysitting, raking leaves, folding or ironing clothes. A group that did this know a lady who was moving and the kids packed and wrapped all of her china and crystal. She was so appreciative she made a very nice donation!

Or you could offer to do a volleyball camp for younger kids, say through the YMCA. Do a weekend camp for younger players. That way you are doing what you already know and love to do.

Depending on your local laws you could consider a charity bingo event. Many local businesses will contribute to prizes for a simple banner or sign posted at the event and a mention on a flier that you hand out. You can check out http://www.wholesalebingosupplies.com for a lot more information on bingo supplies and articles for having a charity fundraiser.

2 - 5K walk/run. This always brings people out. It works for our group. I'm amazed at how many people, kids and dogs pay the fee just to get a ribbon! They even buy a T-shirt, for the dog, too!!!
Marathon dance contest.
Car wash on a busy Saturday near the mall entrance.
Get a business to give you something to raffle off. New TV, IPod, like that. A spa day. Dinner.
Get an old car and have people pay to bash it!!!
