What are some good Pack lunch ideas for kids?!

Question: What are some good Pack lunch ideas for kids?
I have never made a packed lunch for a kid before and I have to do it tomorow as I am looking after my brothers kid. How much things should you have in the pack lunch (obviously not too much, but enough where he is not hungry). Can you give some ideas please. Thanks

Something quite large like a sandwich or a wrap that will primarily fill him up, then something like fruit maybe two portions and a small treat like chocolate. I've never really felt the need for any more because it is only lunch, but if you want a yoghurt is a good idea. Make sure he has plenty of water as well. He's not going to die if he doesn't have enough food lol, so don't worry about it. If he says I didn't like this etc, it isn't the end of the world.

Making more pack lunches than you've had hot dinners :P

You should pack two snacks, along with the actual lunch, which should probably be something like soup or a sandwich, just trust me, you should not try to hide vegetables if s/he's one of those kids who don't like them, because trust me, they will find them. I suggest just packing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, or if the school is one of those peanut free schools, maybe just a bologna sandwich will do, but you should cut it in half, diagonally is the usual and make sure it won't be crushed. To go along with the lunch, a juice box and maybe some vegetables will suffice. For the first snack, just pack soemthing already packaged like fruit snacks, or a bag of chips, for the second snack, cheese and crackers will probably be the best choice.

first i would choose something like:
a wrap (filled with his fave filling)
a sandwhich (again fave filling)
sausage roll
pasta salad(can have almost anything mixed in and is very filling and nutritious)
cold quiche
then add something like:
a packet of crisps
crackers and dip
bredsticks and dip
a piece of fruit:
apples
pears
bananas
a few grapes
orange
a pudding:
yogurt (remeber the spoon)
chocolate bar (kitkat or rocky something like that)
cake
biscuits
a juice carton would be nice also- get a high fruit content one to count as one of the five a day
remember a water bottle the bigger the better- he doesn't want to be dehydrated.

hope this helped

Do his parents have certain foods that he is not allowed to eat? Check that first. Normally you want food that is nutritious whilst remaining fun and tasty. For younger kids Bananas are a good choice as they are rich in energy. If you make a sandwich use wholemeal bread or a granary loaf. Maybe some yogurt, but make sure it is not full of additives or colouring, this will provide a good source of calcium. Drinkswise go for Orange Juice or another fruit based beverage that will provide essential vitamins. A small amount of a sweet may be a good idea aswell, like a chocolate bar or something?

small and interesting is the key

is it to last him all day? or just for lunch

if it is for all day you need to put some extra bits in for elevenses and mid afternoon

I would make a ham or cheese sandwich, (cut the crusts off most children won't eat them anyway) make some carrot sticks, add 2 small items of fruit (apple or bunch of grapes or banana) and don't for get at least one drink - bottles are best - then they can put the top on if they don't drink it all then add a biscuit and maybe a packet of crisps - that would probably do most under tens

Or better still ask him or her what he would like

a sandwich made with two slices of thick bread..maybe cheese and tomato, tuna mayo or turkey/chicken slices. make sure you pack a carton of juice, kids like apple or orange i think :) one snack so its not too unhealthy, like a chocolate bar or a packet of chips. and pot of fruit flavour yoghurt or a fruit should keep him full for a while after lunch :) hope i helped!

Sandwich with lean meat or sugar free peanut butter maybe, a small apple? It should be healthy, but also have a small 'treat' in there. Too much sugar isn't good and you don't want the kid crashing mid-afternoon and coming home cranky and grumpy.

Sandwich? lol! a small chocolate, perhaps a 2 finger kitkat or something. some crisps or yogurt? and plenty of drink for him. if he is old enough, why not ask him what he would like? :]

Cheese, ham or peanut butter sandwich or wrap, yoghurt, fruit, carrot sticks with hummous and juice

First, I'd ask your brother or your nephew! Think about what you used to eat when you were his age - sandwich, fruit, cookie, water or juice 0 does he purchase milk at school?
