Who do people usually invite to their sweet 16?!
My question is, who should I invite? Obviously the 20-25 friends I mentioned, but family? Neighbors? Some friends I've known since I was 3, and I'm really close with their families, so should I invite their families? But then should I invite the families of the friends who I am not so close to (and don't know their families)? Should I invite my cousins who are my age (but that would be really awkward because they don't know my friends)?
Don't tell me just to invite who I like, because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, and I don't know who it is normal to invite. Thanks!

You should have separate parties, that way there is no awkwardness. Have a friends party where you can go overboard and have a ton of fun... we girls like to do some crazy things... cake fights, pillow fights... and some other things I am not going to mention..; ) Then have a quieter family party where you invite the friends of the family and your own family.
Personally I liked having a small party with just my best friends that I eat lunch with everyday and spend time with, it is so much more fun. (less than a year ago) I had about 7 girls over and had a sleepover, kept things on the DL as much as I could. Later I had a small party with my family which was nice, b/c sometimes things get awkward when you mix them. xD Anyway, have a great sweet 16 : )
Invite close and responsible friends as 16th parties can get out of hand. Make sure that four adults are on hand at all times. Invite your friend's parents then your parents can have some help and talk to someone at the party. Don't display your party too much on internet sites because crashers will come. The Alice in Wonderland idea is great! I always invite my cousins to my parties and they always make new friends. Don't invite the families who you don't know... just invite the girls.
