Ideas for a childs halloween party?!

Question: Ideas for a childs halloween party?
I'm in charge of a 7 year olds halloween party. The mom wants to have a haunted house. What is appropriate for 7 year old kids? Something that won't scare the poop out of them and give them nightmares...

Dollar Store...look for the various glow in the dark skeletons....either hang them on walls, posing them with funny stuff (boas, carrying trick or treat bags, dancing, holding hands all in a row, etc).....or you can get long sticks and attach to backs and join them together or place them randomly

Make gravestones with weird names (google has tons of names to use).....get some dog bone chews and throw them around. Have piles of leaves around the bones and gravestones.

Have them reach into different bowls to find something...like a plastic Halloween ring...Take different foods and articles and place them in bowls behind a curtain on a table (or in a dark room). The kids have to stick their hands in the food and guess what it really is. Before each food sample, tell the kid what they are about to feel. For example: Witch's eyeballs (peeled grapes), Witch's brains (cooked spaghetti noodles), a poor soul's guts (canned spinach that's very slimy and disgusting), Frankenstein's fingernails (slivered almonds), Blood (warm non-set Jell-O), Witch Noses (cut hot dogs), dried ears (dried apples), bat toenails (seeds), liver (slab of jell-o), teeth (Popcorn kernels). You'll get lots of "yuck!" and "gross". You can get very imaginative with these type of Halloween games.

Here's a GAME>>Coolest Halloween Party Ideas Obstacle Course: Split the group into three-four teams. The first guest dunks for an apple, then moves on to get a marshmallow out of flour using only teeth (while the flour sticks to their wet face). Then, they have to eat a doughnut hanging from a string, run back and tag the next kid in line. This is one of those Halloween games that gets very messy, so have lots of towels on hand.

Make your own witch...get to clothing thrift store...shop for long black skirt, old black boots or shoes, witches hat, old wig, mask, cape can be a plastic tablecloth. Sit her in a chair to build her and keep her there. Run little white lights all around her and light up the mask, eyes area. Stuff her shirt, use dark gloves for hands wrapped around a broom...tape a sign "WITCHING you a Happy Halloween!" (See if you can some kind of curtain things to make separate scenes or big cardboard boxes to use as props. ) they can always be painted or covered with torn up, tea stained cheesecloth ......which make for great "curtains", btw. Get webs, spiders....carve out some weird pumpkins and light them up....can use long skinny carrots for noses.

Get a fog machine...party store?....fill the room with tons of black and orange balloons with all the streamers hanging down in everyone's faces...put blow-pop suckers on the ends to weight them down.

Get a music CD of chains and howling and that kind of stuff. You can always switch to the fun Halloween music at some other point in the party.
EDIT:. adding, gather up some tree branches (skinny ones) to secure to a pole or railing or stick securely in a large pot)...run some lights through it...hang bats or other creepy things.

Do another scene of scary-looking scarecrows and bales of hay---they can bob for apples at that scene, too!

Here are some ideas for your Halloween party - these look to be more fun than scary.

Eyeball Bounce - Decorate ping pong ball to look like eyeballs. Then have the kids try to get the eyes in the pumpkin or cups. http://partygameideas.com/halloween-game…

Halloween Corners - Play music and the kids move around to select a corner, but will they survive the elimination. http://partygameideas.com/halloween-game…

Halloween Picture Bingo - It’s Bingo and with images it’s fun and easy for little kids to play, other versions available http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merch…

I would stick to pretty tame ghosts, witches, bats, and of course jack o lanterns. Some cool music (not too scary) and lighting. Some kids at this age are very frightened by masks, I woudn't use any of those on people or otherwise. I would also not use fake blood, knives, and certainly no chainsaw lol! To me you would want it to be a little scary for them but you don't want kids running out screaming and freak everybody out. I second pp on using lots of glow sticks, lighting like strobe lights, black lights.

(In my opinion a haunted house is not a great idea for this age kids. It would be much better to stick to games like bobbing for apples, face painting, pumpkin painting, maybe even wagon rides or whatever. 7 yo's love that kind of thing and you're gonna spend alot of time and effort on a haunted house that they may all hate, ya know?)

Huh... When I was that age, my babysitter made a cardboard haunted house with scary masks hanging in openings she cut in the side as well as some cobwebs... There was also a scary track playing in the background. I suppose the safest thing to do is go get some scary cut outs unless you don't like the imagery. Then I guess you could go more 'festive' with orange and black tinsel and cut outs.

For that age group, generally anything that doesn't move or talk I suppose. xD

well they could have liike a part of the haunted house when they make halloween craftts you could go to the dollar store and buy random decorations, you could idk make the haunted house so for you it would be funny and maybe for them it wouldnt?? maybe look it up on google...for more ideas or you could brainstorm with the mom....idk what else...i hope this helps

my brain

Well, you can make your own haunted house.
Use your imaginations.

If you make it comical they should find it a funny gross, not scary.

So, things like a brain jello mold or little witch hat cookies would go over well.

put photos of linda blair and all that will do it, happy devil worshiping!
