What is the best way to make my own bar for my wedding?!

Question: What is the best way to make my own bar for my wedding?
I am wanting to save money for our wedding and we have decided to just stock our own bar and higher a couple of bartenders. I was just wondering what the best way to create the actual bar itself? Should I just rent a bar? I don't want to just use a regular table because the bartenders will have to be bending over the whole night when making drinks (because the tables are so short) Also I'm thinking that an actual bar might hide some of the bar clutter(all of the drinks and bottles). But i was trying to avoid paying someone else to deliver and set up a bar if i could come up with something that might work just as well. any ideas? maybe raise the table? but how would i do that without making it look ridiculous? or too cheap?

If you wanted, you could get 2 tables and arrange them in an "L" format. Then raise them by setting them on wooden blocks or anything like that. Then, to make them less "cheap" looking, you could drape decorative table clothes that are the colors of your wedding (or something like that) from the top of the table down to the floor. Or, if you're artsy, decorate the table cloth yourself. You could make it creative and fun by drawing, stenciling, neatly pasting cutouts, or sticking stickers of things related to a bar/drinks. It could be a fun project for you and your future husband to do together. I'm all for non-traditional, kinda loopy weddings. I want my wedding to be completely different and unusual from other weddings, I just hope my future wife agrees :)

Good luck with everything and may God bless your union.

I see many second hand stores with used portable "bars". It might be less expensive to buy one from one of those stores and if you don't like the color, you could always spray paint it one color (like black). And then when your party is finished, you could always have one of your friends haul it away or call and have another second hand store (like Goodwill) pick it up as a donation after your wedding (you get the FMV of the donation as a tax deduction).

Good luck.
