Groovy, dude or dudette!

I've got 100's of thoughts for you, unfortunately a lot of them are against community guidelines, so I can't share 'em here.On the tamer side you could have barf mats instead of place mats, a hulu-hoop duel, a Fonzie look-alike contest, plenty of great 60's music, certainly.

As long as you'll be going to the joke store for some of above supplies, you should be sure to pick up some whoopee cushions and plastic dog poop. With some thought these might be used as prizes.

For decorations try to get some old music or movie posters, Elvis The Beatles, Bobby Darrin, Roy Orbison, Marvin Gaye, The 4 Tops, the list is endless. I wish I could go on, but my time here is limited, since I, myself was in high gear for most of that era, before joining the Marines in 1969.

Decorations can include strings of beads in doorways, flower-power signs, peace signs, psychedelic stuff. Hang up paper lanterns....even string up products from that era (like Campbell's soup cans and TV dinner boxes from Swanson foods)......get toys like the wooden paddle ball with that little ball on a long rubber band (have contest to see who can do it the longest, etc).

Hula hoop contests, too.
Twister game was originally from 1964 and still popular today
The game Clue and Life and Rock 'Em-Sock 'Em Robots and the Ouija Board
Girls' baton sets (try twirling those things!)--award prizes to those who can actually do it!

Print out trivia about the 60's and hang up....get ideas here>>>http://objflicks.com/TakeMeBackToTheSixt…

Lots of dancing went on in the 60's...so have a dance contest featuring these dances: Popular dances from the '60s almost always include the word "the" — The Twist, The Pony, The Bird, The Mashed Potato, The Watusi, The Ska, The Monkey, The Tighten Up and more.... Purchase an instructional dance video, and play it in the background so guests can mimic the steps. Try this link to get informed about all the "groovy" 60's dances:

SNOW SLIP: This game will help you "to warm-up" shy people. As the music plays, one pair begins to dance. At the host's signal this pair splits up and asks 2 more partners to dance. Again, at the next host's signal these 2 pairs break and ask to 4 more partners to dance etc. The number of dancing pairs grows like a snow-slip.

Give out prizes for the dancers

"HIPPY HEADBAND TOSS" 60'S PARTY GAME: This retro game requires a “headband”, and something tall and skinny to throw it onto (if you’re playing outside, a garden stake is perfect). Guests gather fairly close to the ‘stand’ to start with, and must toss the headband onto the stand. If they are successful, they take one step backwards; if they fail, they bow out of the 60's party game. In order to win this 60's party game, a player must be the one who can toss the headband onto the stand from the furthest distance.

Peace out...;D
