well i am egyptian so maybe we will be different in thinking
but gd i am 13
so i'll just help
surprises won't be the most iportant part for me in my birthday
i'd like gifts to be better than what i expected and a big cake with miley cyrus on it
(or maybe she doesn't like miley cyrus so put her anything she likes)
don't make things on the cake that look like real
i mean don't put things with ups and downs to look reall even if it was something she likes
coz she would feel u r treating her like a child
if u r her mother but her something that is soooo teenaging
and she can show it to all her friends
get a DJ and choose songs she likes
never get new songs she doesn't know
even if it was her favourite artist
it feels bad when there's a song n i'm not singing with it
make pink stylish decorations and u act very carefully coz she doesn't wanna get embarrassed infront of her friends
my best part would be the songs part
avoid inviting little kids
they will annoy her n her style of celebrating would be ruined coz of those little kids
i wish i helped
OMG i really wrote all of that???????????
haha hope i helped

being 13

Having 2 girls myself I know how difficult it can be to plan birthday parties, especially when they are just about to hit the teen years and want to start planning their own parties.

My idea is to have a traditional girlie slumber party. Get her to invite up to 5 of her girl friends around on a Saturday afternoon, about 4pm. Before the party take her to the video store and let her pick out some chick flicks, or anything age appropriate she likes.
They all bring sleeping bags, PJ's, makeup, C.D's, etc. Let them listen to their music, for 2 hours while you retreat to the bedroom with a cup of tea and a good book for some peace and quiet, returning only to offer them some iced tea, soda or cookies.
For an easy dinner, buy them some english muffins, tomato paste or ready made pasta sauce, pineapple, cheese, ham, etc. and let them make their own mini pizzas. once pizzas are prepared just put them in the oven for 10-15 mins on a tray.
After dinner, make a HUGE bowl of popcorn while they all have showers and get into their PJ's. let them settle in their sleeping bags with popcorn, hot chocolate and their movies. Turn the light out and leave them to it.

Don't stress if you hear lots of giggling during the night, or see flashlights going off every 5 minutes. It's normal for them to get up at midnight for a snack and to play silly games. Just ask them nicely to keep their voices down just a little bit, and then leave them alone unless theyre doing something really dangerous. If you want to do a cake for your daughter, your best bet is to do it after dinner for dessert, before the popcorn and movies.

I have had many successful slumber parties over the years, and now that I'm all grown up, I STILL invite my best friend over for a girlie night of chick flicks, mini pizzas, popcorn, facials and 90's pop music haha.

GOOD LUCK AND DON"T STRESS

My sister just turned 12 years old, and the age range was similar. Her theme was a dog party. And the important thing with girls this age is to remember that they don't want to be treated like little kids and play the typical party games like pin the tail on the donkey and so on... So for her party I planned a scavenger hunt where I drew seven different dogs, and then made clues to lead them to the next one.

For my 13 year old sisters party I also did a similar thing with different tiki pieces and then after they found all of them they had to put it together. Usually pinatas are a good idea, and making your own can be a lot of fun, that way you can have more layers and make it extra challenging for everyone there. The theme of this party was tiki, and we tie dyed shirts, and played a game called tacky tourists. The kids were split up into two groups and had to pull on hawiian vacation clothes and then sit on a blow up whale/shark and then run so far and return and take off all the vacation clothes and give them to the next person in line. The first one done is the winner.

Medevil theme is also an interesting idea for a party. Everyone dresses up in costumes and comes, and then you can have a murder mystery, or just a plan mystery in general that everyone has to solve, and each one is a different character in the plot.

But the theme really depends on what the birthday girl is interested in. There are lots of ideas, but some of them appeal more to some than others. But best of luck planning a great party.

why don't you try a cool underwater theme. decorate your house like it is under water and have the parents dress up as mermaids. everyone will get a kick out of that. or you could try a nail salon party where you take the kids to the salon to get their nails done. you could also try a scavenger hunt, like look for things around your neighbourhood nad then play all sorts of games.

Hope this helps Hope you have a cool party and a great birthday Mal.

Do a theme she likes. For example if she a music person do a music theme. Oh and play 'dance-able' music. Im actually 15 yr and a party wuld b fun for me is there was hip-hop and r&b music playinq.Just make it teen fun. DONT make it so childish either (:
