When your family vacations at a rental cottage do you do all your own meal prep or mostly dine out? I'm asking?!

Question: When your family vacations at a rental cottage do you do all your own meal prep or mostly dine out? I'm asking?
because I've rented 2 cottages on an island lake and plan to invite friends having a total of 10 guests (12 in total). I have paid for the cottages and I'm trying to figure out a meal plan. I don't want it to be a costly affair for my friends yet I don't want to be the cook either. Do you think I should assign each family a dinner night to prepare or calculate the expense for groceries and have everyone pitch in with the meal preps. In the past we've done a lot of eating out but that becomes to costly for everyone. I'd rather save the money for fun things to do. What do you do? What are your suggestions?

Answers:

how wonderful!!

i would take as much with you as you can
island life is normally expensive

why not get everyone together
make a nite of it lol
make meal plans for most of the time you are there
mega shopping list, get everyone to chip in, both with cash & the shopping trip
(and the cooking, it will be a blast!)

i think you will en up eating evening meals out some of the time
so dont buy loads

have a wonderful time
sounds brilliant!!

take turns, assign a lunch & dinner to each, who ever is cooking dinner the others can bring dessert, & drinks.
& maybe have a night out too, everyone pays their own way...
