any ideas for a movie-themed child's party?!
Answers:
Depends on the movie. Wizard of Oz might be good (it was the age when I first saw it), you can buy popcorn and have all of her friends make their own (they sell all sorts of seasoning salts). You can also buy little individual popcorn containers (I've seen them at Cost Plus World Market). You can decorate by buying "ruby" fabric (fabric with red sequins) and draping it over the couches and chairs. Have them make their own pizza, buy store bought dough or Bobblei (sp?) and buy all sorts of toppings. They can name their pizza creation (The Cowardly Lion, The Tin Man, etc). What's a movie without all the candy, buy all sorts of candy that you can get at the theater (liquorice, whoppers, bunch a crunch, M&M's). You can also get one of your favorite movies from when you were her age that she hasn't seen. Get tickets (Make your own on the computer, saying the name of the movie with the special guest star as your daughter) and this will be their ticket in to the show. Play movie trivia and get prizes like DVD's or gift certificates to your local theater. You can also go a little upscale and make "mock-tails" pour Koolaid into sugar rimmed martini glasses. Those are my ideas, hope this helps.
Horror movies : Coraline, Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Haunted Mansion, Monster House, or other age appropriate horror movies.
Chick Flicks: Aquamarine, Never Been Kissed, Enchanted, The Princess Diaries, Ice Princess.
Also do some manis or pedis and get girly foods like cupcakes and such.
Twilight or Vampire movies, like Cirque du Freak, which is much more appropriate.
Harry Potter, because Harry Potter is awesome for any age.
What movie is it going to be? Or is it just movies in general? I think it would be cute to have cute little movie reel cut outs and stuff. Maybe you could make it kind of a Hollywood spin off. You could have a red carpet. Have red and black and white crepe papers and have a movie marathon slumber party!
This place has some cute stuff and good ideas - include those for a movie-themed party...
