What do you think of this menu? Any suggestions?!

Question: What do you think of this menu? Any suggestions?
Okay, I'm having a birthday dinner with my friends for my sweet 16. we are having a chef come in but i want to be a little more specific with the meal guidelines. I don't like onions so I'm avoiding onions in anything. There's going to be a region inspiring each course. So far this is my menu:

First Course: Asain Theme; Asian Salad- I need something here that's more specific

Second Course: Italian; Pasta dish- maybe a bolognase or something with a meat sauce.

Third Course: French; Beingets, Mini Chocolate Souffles and Creme Brulees

sound good

So appetizer is asian theme and main course is Italian and dessert is french. That sounds good.

You need some asian appetizer idea.
Along with Asian Salad
Spring rolls (fried), not egg rolls. Egg rolls are too big and overwhelming as appetizer for your menu.
Fried Dumpling : Very good alternative for egg rolls.

or

You can go with Japanese theme

* Japanese salad with ginger dressing
* Shrimp tempura or vegetable tempura or / and
California rolls ( California rolls are safe sushi for most of Americans)

As for main course
* Spaghetti with meatballs does very well in my family. - Serve with Ziti noodle if buffet setting.
* Ziti or Lasagna is always popular at buffet party setting
* Serve with some garlic bread

As for desert, you already have good choices of goodies.

I would go meatless for your entree. Not everyone eats meat but everyone can eat a meatless pasta dish. I'd go with Baked Ziti (Traditional Baked Ziti is meatless) or maybe a spinach lasagna. Serve with Italian bread or garlic bread.

For the asian salad, find or make an asian vinaigrette and toss with chopped romaine, mandarin orange segments, scallions, slivered almonds, toasted sesame seeds and julienned red or yellow bell peppers.

erm well the thing here is how many of your guests know thier food. your sophistication might be lost on them. do your guests really want salad then bolognese. its like eating an apple then having a bic mac.

I would really go more mainstream if your going thai then make sure its seafood and noodles
Italian go for calzone its still pasta but with finesse. your dessert idea is fantastic though.
