Anniversary Dinner Ideas for Parents 30th?!

Question: Anniversary Dinner Ideas for Parents 30th?
My siblings and I are trying to think of some dinner ideas for our parents 30th wedding anniversary next month. We are trying to decide on whether to go out to eat, or stay in and all pitch in to make a meal at home. What are some ideas of appetizer/dinner/dessert combinations we could do for dinner?

Appetizer....Southwestern egg rolls, fried calamari or bloomin onion

Dinner....Prime rib steak or roast, creamed spinach and twice baked potatoes

Dessert...strawberry shortcake

How nice of all of you. Saw the other response, but since I don't eat red meat, thought I would give you other ideas:

Appetizer: steamed clams or caprece salad (sliced fresh tomatos, sliced fresh mozzarella cheese and fresh basil leaves, drizzled with good extra virgin olive oil, a little salt and pepper.

Main dish: Grilled split whole lobster (or tails) or fettucini a quatro formaggie (fettucini with 4 cheeses)

Side dish: fresh broccoli sauted with garlic in olive oil

Desert: Chocolate cheescake

Another idea for you. You guys could put a menu together of items that you can tie special memories of them together with and cook/serve those. Go all out with a created menu describing the selection with lots of yummy adjectives and a brief note about the memory tied into that dish to reflect upon.

Very thoughtful of you guys, I bet they would enjoy the time and energy put into it by their loving kids if you all did it at home. Enjoy and I wish them many more!

About 10 years ago I did the same for my parents. Since it was one person organizing it (just me) I invited friends of theirs about 10-15 people and it was a potluck. It made it easy and everyone had a great time. Just ask people in advance, just assign each person a different dish.
