Question: I want to DJ a Party? What do I need?

My friend and I had the idea... "Let's be DJ's" so, I'm here asking what do I need to become a DJ.. I have an ipod and thats about it so, what do I need and where can I get the equipment... cost isn't an issue but I do like to save my money, I don't need anything huge or professional.
