making my sisters 18th birthday cake

HEATH BAR CAKE

1 box chocolate cake mix
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 sm. jar caramel topping
1 container whipped topping
heath bar bites

Bake cake according to directions on box. Let cake cool slightly and poke holes in top of cake. Pour milk over cake. Spread caramel topping over milk. Chill for 1 hour, then spread with whipped topping (mix heath bites into whipped topping first, but save some to sprinkle on top of the cake)

This is my favorite cake! I have it every single birthday!!

This is the best cake! It keeps nicely for a couple days, assuming it lasts that long.

Carrot Cake

2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
3 cups shredded carrot (I like to use my two-cup chopper and baby carrots)
1 t vanilla
2 cups flour
2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1 1/2 t cinnamon
1/4 t allspice (or increase the cinnamon by 1/4 t if you prefer)
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Preheat oven to 350F for light colored pans, 325F for glass or dark pans. Spray a 9x13 inch baking pan or two 9" round cake pans with Pam, dust with flour, tap excess flour out. Set pan(s) aside. Or use Baking Pam with Flour.

Combine, oil, eggs and sugar with mixer. Once well combined, beat in carrot and vanilla. Stir together dry ingredients. Add to sugar-carrot mixture and beat well. Stir in nuts, if using.

Bake 9x13 pan for 40-45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. The baking time is 35-40 minutes for round 9” pans. If using round pans, let cake layers cool for about five minutes then remove and cool on rack.

Frost cooled cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. For a layer cake, place one layer on plate. Add frosting to top of layer only, leaving about 1/2 inch around the edge. Place second layer on frosting and again frost top only but to the edge. If he likes nuts, you could sprinkle some finely chopped pecans around the outside edge of the frosting.

8 oz. cream cheese, softened (use regular cream cheese, not reduced or no-fat)
1 stick butter, softened (or margarine - not spread)
approximately 5 cups powdered sugar (start with 4 cups and add more as necessary)
1 t vanilla

Using hand mixer, beat cream cheese and margarine for a couple minutes. Add powdered sugar, beating until right consistency. Beat in vanilla. Spread on cooled cake. Store cake covered.

Depends on what he likes.

If he has a favorite sports team maybe you could make him a football or basketball with the name of his team on it.

If he likes a certain car make a cake in the shape of that car.

If he really looooves a certain food like hamburgers you could make a cake in the shape of one, that would be funny.

Make a cake in the shape of something they like and the flavour of something they like.
