Party help? Entertainment?
I NEED DESPERATE HELP FOR MY 18TH BIRTHDAY!!! I'm having a masquerade ball at my family's clubhouse, the problem is my parents want to hire a DJ. I thought it was a good idea until I thought of my friends. My friends aren't exactly the most outgoing people in the room like I am. So I need help to come up with an alternative to do maybe? I don't want all this awkwardness in the room because my friends won't move their butts to the dance floor, and its all girls so if one won't go the rest won't either there gonna be to tempted by the girl in the corner and make small talk with her instead of dance then the whole room will go there. Please any ideas? I'm playing games later on in the party to win these amazing beautiful masks, although everyone is provided one these ones are the BEST! So please be as specific as possible and help me!! :(

why dont you make it to where people would wanna dance like having a dance off with a ultimate prize,then everyone will wanna dance to win the ultimate prize you can also just dance your self first and people will fallow..its your party there,there to have fun..you just gotta start it..
my suggestion...
Why don't you look at hiring a Magician instead of a DJ? One that walks around during dinner and does table magic and then after dinner, does a full magic show where ever sits in one audience for his/her show. Most people enjoy magic.
