Entertainment for Housewarming Party?!

Question: Entertainment for Housewarming Party?
Hello. I'm hosting a housewarming party with my fiance in one month. I'm a little nervous. My fiance and I have already worked out a menu for the guests but now I'm concerned about where everyone is going to sit and what kind of entertainment is going to be provided. We have 12 adults and 3 kids attending the party. We live in a decent size apartment but I'm still concerned about space and what my guests will do once they arrive. This is my first time hosting a party and I'm really nervous! Please help!

Firstly, remain calm! If space is a concern, then simply have finger foods so folks can mingle and sit wherever they like. Have background music, this really helps. I think no entrainment is required. There are some games out there that have fun questions (the dinner table game is one) just to break the ice but conversations often happen naturally in my experience. Have a tv show/dvd for the kids in a bedroom or spare room somewhere if you can, so the parents can chat without the kids being bored (I have four children, so I speak from experience!) If you want a game to entertain go to your local store and look at all that is our there. We play Taboo sometimes with guests. I think the main thing is to relax, offer them a hostess that is glad to see them, not one that is stressed because everything is not totally perfect in her mind, and you will have a delightful first party!

We have lots of company over....plus we are already a family of 6! I have thrown various types of gatherings over the years, it is a wonderful thing to be able to do for your family and friends!
