why do famillies throw big parties for a little kid?!

Question: Why do famillies throw big parties for a little kid?
ok i know that when i was a kid around 5 or 7 years old i used to have like a semi-big party. i also go to parties (for example 15's) and it last way into the night. but here's what i dont get and asking: why does a family throw a big and long party for a child? i know its important but i have to wake up early to get things ready and i think it starts at around 10 in the morning and end at 5 in the afternoon. and second: if they are throwing a big party for a child, would that consider that child more important and special? and do i have to really be there since im 17 and i got college homework to do than just going to a kids party?

oneof those things in live that adults go thru when they have kids. when the kids get older, they may curse their parents for not throwing parties for them when they were young.

Big parties for small children are usually more of an excuse for adults to have a good time rather than for the child. That especially goes for birthdays for children under 3.

they do it to make em' feel special and for blackmail wen theyr older. I suggest you lock urself in ur room then go do ur stuf at a friends house

Just tell them that you don't want to be around a load of smelly kids all day : )
