how to plan a small party?!

Question: How to plan a small party?
so i will be having a small gathering with a few of my friends for my 17th birthday. i wanted it only with really close friends so i only invited like 6 people. anyways i have no plans for the party!
like im probably going to have cake and food.. but like idk what else to plan! its going to be at my house. i was thinking like a movie to watch afterwards or something? idk i havent planned anything. and the thing is that some of the people dont know the other people so i dont want it to be all awkward and quiet. so like yeaaa... please give me some ideas! i am at a loss

and on a side note most of the birthday parties i go to there are pretty big celebrations, not like a small intimate thing. so yea... and i havent thrown a party for years. gosh i should be looking forward to this party (this weekend) and im dreading it... i have nothing planned.

I think you're on the right track. Small parties with teenagers usually end with a movie or 2. It's a casual gathering so keep it that way. Concentrate on your menu. Such as a BBQ or pizza.

Happy Birthday!

Do you see it???

Make your party interesting! Try picking your favorite movie (action, comedy, drama, romance, horror, even disney!) base your food and drink on that movie.
example: gone with the wind: southern fried chicken, country potato salad, biscuts, corn on the cob, fresh peaches and chocolate cake with home-made C&H fudge frosting
You can even set up your front room like a theater and make up forms for your guests to fill out after the viewing. Best critic's review could win a door prize like a movie giftcard!
GOOD LUCK:D
