at closing time - shouldn't they sell them for a reduced price in the first place so that office workers can afford them. I balk at paying 3 and a half quid for a crayfish and rocket sandwich and two pounds fifty for a muffin when they hand them out for nothing to all sorts of undesirables later on.

I didn't know Starbucks gave away uneaten food to the less fortunate. Maybe it's just in your area. Yeah they're probably overpricing everything. That is the way of the food-service industry. If you're going to balk at the prices, you should consider learning to make your own versions of whatever it is you're wanting.

Once I found a good recipe for Blueberry Muffins, I haven't been able to properly appreciate store bought Blueberry Muffins.
