So I have a friend who is turning 30 and I want to throw a small party but I have no space, what should I do?!

Question: So I have a friend who is turning 30 and I want to throw a small party but I have no space, what should I do?
I would prefer to throw it indoors and I need to find a place that is accommodating, both in terms of budget and time. I live in New York City, I would invite around 15 to 20 people, and no one I know has space either. Has anyone had success in renting a party room or hall somewhere that would feel private, like a loft? I can't spend more than $300.

Answers:

Try a nice but low-key hotel. They sometimes offer rooms for parties and such at a decent price too.

Silly something to make them forget the 30 part...make arrangements at a McDonald's or Pizza Hut for a Kids party. Just leave out the kid part.

find a cool place that is having a happy hour and have everybody meet there and chow down on the food and drink specials.
