Creative Birthday Treat?!

Question: Creative Birthday Treat?
This Wednesday is my friend's birthday. He's the youth minister at our church, so we are going to celebrate at the youth service. Normally, we would get a cake, but there are two conditions: He doesn't like cake and he gave up sweets for Lent. Any ideas as to what we can get him instead?

Answers:

If he is the Minister, he will appreciate anything you do for him. If you can't think of anything else, go ahead and make a cake. He will appreciate it even if he doesn't eat any, and everyone will eat it and have a good time.

Are you wanting to make a dessert? You could do something with fruit. Like fruit salad or fruit pizza. That's still a dessert, but not too sugary sweet.

Have you thought about an appetizer? Any type of finger food would be good. Chips and dips, meat and cheese tray, finger sandwiches, veggies and dip.

Here's a couple of really easy recipes that are fast and easy to make.

Fruit dip - one 8oz pkg of cream cheese, softened, mixed with one small container of marshmallow cream. serve with cut up fruit.

Cheese ball - 2 8oz pkgs of cream cheese, a small bunch of green onions - sliced thinly, and 5 pkgs of "beef" lunch meat (the super cheap kind, they are around 50 cents a package, and they just say beef on the wrapper) chop up the beef in a food processor, mix with cream cheese and green onions, serve with Ritz crackers.
