Yellow Cake Recipe?!

Question:

Yellow Cake Recipe?

Does anyone have one? I need one that is similar to the ones that you can buy at like Giant (like birthday cake). i have been searching for the perfect recipe but all of them seem to turn out like a really sweet dense bread which is yucky. so basically, i need a "bakery" recipe. or one that a baker would use if making a wedding cake (can hold up well) not a ultra soft cake like boxed cake that is more like a sponge.

Golden Butter Cake:
3 cups cake flour (not self rising)
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup butter (2 sticks, softened)
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup whole milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour three 9 inch cake pans and line bottom with parchment or waxed paper. In bowl combine flour, salt, and baking powder. In large bowl beat butter and sugar at high speed for five minutes until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Reduce speed and add in additions of flour and milk beginning and ending with flour. Beat just until smooth and scrape down the bowl. Distribute the batter among the three cake pans and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in cake comes out clean. My oven has them done at 20 minutes but you check yours when you think they're done. Yellow cake- is a composite of four flavors, "blov" in the pastry industry which stands for Butter, lemon, orange and vanilla.
because orange extract can be hard to find outside of the baking industry I suggest orange zest.

yield: 1 two layer 9 inch cake
preheat oven 350 degrees Fahrenheit

8 ounces of fat ( oil, butter: melted, or margarine: melted) the oil is the healthiest.
8 ounces of cream cheese ( one package)
1 pound of sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon extract
the zest from one small orange (optional)
6 large eggs
2 ounces of sour cream
1 pound of flour
1 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Cream the fat and sugar together with the cream cheese till smooth. Add your flavorings. Mix in two eggs, then some of the flour, when lightly mixed add two more eggs and some more flour. Add the last two eggs with the sour cream and the last of the flour and other ingredients. Mix till smooth. Pour your batter evenly into two 9 inch cake pans at least 2 inches deep, if your pans aren't deep enough the batter may overflow.
Bake on center rack of oven for about 25- 35 minutes depending upon your oven.

Check the cake after about 25 minutes to begin testing for doneness.
The cake is done when it bounces back in the center. You can also stick a toothpick or a fork in the center and it should come out clean when the cake is done.
