Can I steam rubbery broccoli?!

Question:

Can I steam rubbery broccoli?

I left my broccoli uncovered in the fridge for about 2 weeks and now it is rubber-like. Is it ok to chop it up and steam it?

Answers: check the quality of the broc and if you like it you should put them in cold water first just to bring the crunch back then do whatever you want with it How's the smell? If OK then go to it! If your broccoli smells fine and not molding, sure you can steam it. However, I would recommend poaching it like.. aka.. boiling water and sticking them in for a tiny bit then finish by steaming them.. that way, they suck up some water faster and then you get nice steamed broccoli. Good luck!! =) Why take the risk?"If in doubt ,chuck it out!"Better than stomach problems unless you are really poor lol Put it in a bowl with some ice water and it should crisp back up. If i doesn't crisp up after about an hour in the ice water bath then don't use it.
