Can somebody give me the simplest recipe for spaghetti with meat sauce?

if it's easy to buy and make, I'm all for it. Anything in a jar is fine too. I just want it to taste good. Thanks

1 jar Francesco Renaldi Traditional Spaghetti Sauce
1 tb Grape Jelly
1 lb Ground beef
1 lb Thin Spaghetti
Salt & pepper
Onion Powder
Preparation

brown ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Drain excess fat.

3/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Can add other ingredients if you like, mushrooms, green pepper, but that's a BASIC basil spaghetti sauce.

Saute onion and garlic in olive oil. Add the canned ingredients and the chopped basil. In separate pan fry Italian sausages till golden brown. slice them up, and add them to the sauce, 15 to 20 minutes at a simmer, and there ya have it! Just use Hunts spaghetti sauce and boil it in a pot and pour over buttered and boiled noodles PERFECT! If U want you can use Mullers noodles the combination is great. Well, making it from a jar and just adding cooked ground beef is easy enough, but I never find it troubling just to go a little bit further with it.

Chop 1 onion and saute in saucepan with olive oil until tender. Add a few tsp. minced garlic, which you can find already minced by the jar in your grocery store, and some red pepper flakes. Add one tiny can of tomato paste to the mixture, and stir well. Then, stir in about 3 or 4 counts of red wine (I use a cheap shiraz, just because that's what I usually drink with it!), and let it evaporate some of the alcohol. Then I add 1 can of chopped tomatoes, and 1.5-2 cans of tomato sauce. In a separate skillet, you can fry up some ground beef or bulk sausage (like the Jimmy Dean tubes), and add it to the sauce. Flavor it however you like with italian herbs or the dried shaker seasonings, and SERVE!

A little bit of can opening, and some minor chopping, and you have dinner! Even though there is wine in the sauce, which you can absolutely leave out if preferred, it is still safe to serve to those who can't consume alcohol (children, those with health conditions, etc.)

Meatballs are actually very easy to make if you wanted to go an extra step to impress. Put ground beef, an egg, a shake of dry bread crumbs, some minced garlic, and some red pepper flake and dried herbs in a bowl, mix together with your hands, form into little balls, then fry in a skillet until cooked. If you like them to be a little less crispy on the outside, put them on a baking sheet and cook them in the oven at 375 until done.

If nothing else, you could buy a prepared sauce, and add stuff to it. If you like your sauce chunky, add some crushed tomatoes, more garlic, and onions or peppers to the already prepared sauce. You can really add anything you want to spaghetti sauce. I've made mine with a bunch of different veggies in it before even.

Either way, I hope you attempt a homemade sauce first. You'll see it makes all the difference in the world!

Good luck! OK - I love cooking from scratch, but there is a way to do this from a packet that is so good, people will think it is from scratch.

Serves 2-4:

Chop up an onion and brown it and a pound of ground beef in a skillet - on medium-low if you like the meat in smaller pieces, on medium-high if you like larger chunks. If you use a really lean ground beef start out with a tbsp of olive oil. Drain the oil from the ground beef when done. Return to pan.

Add one 8 oz can of tomato sauce and then with the empty can, and one 8 oz can of water and one 8 oz can of red wine (or just use 2 cans of water).

Then add a Schilling Spaghetti Seasoning packet. Seriously. Stir it all up.

Simmer it on low heat for awhile. The longer it simmers the better it is. It turns a rich reddish-brown. Embellish and add garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, white pepper and/or oregano. Boil your noodles while your sauce is simmering.

This is really good and very easy. Way better than any jarred spaghetti sauce, in my humble opinion.

Optional Hints: If you love garlic like I do, add some fresh minced garlic (ideally that you mince yourself) right after you brown the meat. Sliced mushrooms (not canned) added while the sauce is simmering on low are good too. Finally, try melting a little butter in the hot noodles before you add the sauce.

Hope that helps. Boil water, brown ground meat, add sauce, cook pasta, mix together and eat. I'll do ya one better....I'll give you two answers:

#1. have your mom cook it!!! and hopefully pay for it as well!!! that makes it simply economical...lol

#2. order take out from your favorite Italian restaurant!!! if the above doesn't apply, this is the next best thing!!! Brown ground beef with a little chopped onion, drain off fat. Add a jar of Ragu, Prego, or San Georgio Spaghetti Sauce. Pour over cooked spaghetti noodles that had a little butter added to it. Browned hamburger with diced onions and Ragu chunky veggie sauce. if you like veggies.......this is a great choice and very very easy to make.
