Has anyone got a recipe for hummus without the sesame paste. Will it taste just as good?!

Question:

Answers: I make mine with regular smooth peanut butter, I don't really care for tahini. The peanut butter gives it the super creamy texture and tastes great. Houmous

Serves: 2

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Ingredients

200g cooked chickpeas
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lemon, juiced
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Instructions

Put the first 4 ingredients in a food processor and process until almost smooth (you may need a few extra tbsp water or lemon juice to loosen it). Season and put in an airtight container. Chill until needed.

Yes it will taste absolutely gorgeous, trust me....hope you enjoy this as much as I do!

As something a little different you could add some onions which have been diced and fried in a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar, or add some roasted red peppers, or corriander (cilantro) to the humous once it is ready.

....that's it...I'm off to make some myself now! Sometimes I run out of the paste and make the hummus all the same and must say... it almost tastes the same. Who know... It may even be healthier with out the sesame paste??? If you log onto the following website: -

Check out recipes for Hummus. Im not too sure if sesame paste is the same as Tahini paste?

I Tin Chickpeas (drained)
1 Spoonfull of Tahini Paste
Lemon Juice
Olive Oil
1 Clove of Garlic
Blend together in a blender. You should use the seasame paste because it gives it nutty flavor, if you dont then yes it will taste very different. I just purchased a Magic Bullet and they have a recipe for "Fat Free Hummus". Have not tried it yet.
Splash of fat free chicken (or veg.) broth
1-14oz. can chickpeas (garbanzo beans) drained
2 Tblsp. Lemon Juice
Sprinkle of paprika
Salt & Pepper to taste

Mix in Blender until consistency you want.
Best served cold.

Good luck! Without the tahini paste it will taste just as good, though different. I read the recipe from a previous answer and I would put some minced garlic with it. I was thinking of making some today, so I will try their recipe. yes leave it out.....u dont have to be exact in making hummus, take a can of chick peas, dont drain it completely, pour it into a blender and add olive oil, garlic powder, adobo seasoning (or salt and pepper), lemon juice to taste.......u can also make this same recipe using black beans. 2 cloves garlic—roughly chopped
? cup lemon juice
? cup water
14 oz (400g) canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans)—rinsed and drained
? cup tahini
1 teaspoon sea salt

PLACE all ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until smooth, scraping the sides occasionally.

Variations: If you like a spicier hummus, add a small red chili (chopped) or a pinch of cayenne pepper, or try a little cumin for a more exotic variation.

Tip: Prepare extra quantities of hummus—it can be refrigerated, covered, for up to 1 week and frozen for up to 3 months.
