Turn Regular Granulated Sugar into Brown Sugar?!

Question:

Turn Regular Granulated Sugar into Brown Sugar?

I have heard that you can turn regular granulated sugar into brown sugar. I don't remember how though. My neighbor had given me a bunch of sugar bags, with cinnamon mixed in. I do not cook much with regular sugar and cinnamon, but I can use the brown sugar with cinnamon in different recipes. I know i have to use molasses though..but in what ratio I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

Answers: I never buy brown sugar. I just make my own, as needed, by combining a little molasses with ordinary white sugar. For one cup of white sugar, a teaspoon of molasses is plenty to start. You can always add more if a darker sugar is desired. If you're not using an electric mixer, small lumps usually require some kneading with your fingers to be fully incorporated. . 2 tablespoon molasses
1 cup granulated sugar

Add molasses to sugar and stir with a fork. add as much or as little molasses as you want to the sugar. Brown sugar is granulated sugar not ground down as fine and they add molasses back into the sugar with is what makes it soft if properly stored. 1/4 cup molasses to 1 cup sugar.
