Is there any way I can safely thaw out chicken fast?!

Question:

Is there any way I can safely thaw out chicken fast?

I didn't intend on BBQing chicken, but my guests @ my party DEMAND it. Is there any way I can grill frozen chicken on the George Foreman grill, or does it HAVE to be thawed out?

Answers: I would pre-cook it by par-boiling it. Just put a little water in a skillet (about halfway up the chicken) and bring to a boil, then simmer until unthawed and almost done. Pop it on the grill and it will be cooked all the way through and still have the grilled flavor.

Or I could call up and talk to your guests and tell them to go take a flying leap. Or as my mother would have said, "tell them to take a long walk off of a short bridge." LOL try boiling it just for awhile. Seriously I've done this before when I was getting ready to BBQ, and realized that all I had was frozen chicken. run some cold water in the kitchen sink, sit the whole package in the cold water, with the wrapper on. Or, you can thraw it out in the microwave. if ur having a BBQ put the chicken in water over night but keep the chicken in the packaging the next day it should be thawed and ready to grill Fill your sink up with hot water, put your chicken in a zip top baggie and put it in the sink for a while. Leave it there for about 20 to 30 minutes and then go ahead and cook it. The center will not be totally thawed so it will take a little bit longer to cook but it will be fine! Good luck and happy grilling! You can defrost it in the microwave if it has a defrost facility ,but you will be better cooking it in the oven before placing it on the barby ..just to make sure it is cooked.Ideally you should defrost it in your fridge for 24 hours Have you ever tryied using cold water or lukewarm water with table salt? The salt will draw out the old blood that is in the chicken and the cold/ lukewarm water will speed up the thawing process. Have fun and Good Luck! I know you can precook the pieces in a covered skillet (what we call smothered chicken) then pop them on the grill. Good luck & Happy 4th!!

P.S. I wouldn't do the thawing in hot water...afraid of bacteria. just put in the microwave!!!! Thaw it under running COLD water. Well it should be thawed some so it will cook evenly try running cool water over the package..should thaw enough to work with then. i have always thawed my boneless chicken breasts out in a bowl of hot,hot tap water. But i don't eat bone-in chicken so am not sure if that would work for it but i really don't see why it wouldn't.
