Answers: Yes, but be VERY careful because it will become extremely hot. Use several pot holders, oven mitt or one of those heat-proof gloves. Use extra precaution when touching the pan's handle. Cast iron will be ideal for the BBQ. Cooking with cast iron is the only way to cook on a pit. Just don't forget your pot holders or oven mitts! YES YOU SURE CAN, MY PARENTS DO IT ALL THE TIME WHEN WE GO ON CAMPING TRIPS. yes....but make sure you have a hot mitt on your hand.....HOT I totally concur w/ the previous answers. Make sure that you have good mitts, are really careful, and warn anyone that might touch the pan to use the mitts as well. My whole family tends to want to check on the food no matter who's cooking it. Have fun w/ ur BBQing! Sure, cast iron is good for ALL heat sources.
