Is there a best way to peel hard boiled eggs?!

Question:

Is there a best way to peel hard boiled eggs?

i made some hard boiled eggs today and it was such a pain to peel them. i kept tearing the eggs and the shells kept breaking instead of peeling. is there something i'm not doing?

Answers:

What works for me is to wait until the eggs have cooled. Then tap the egg on the counter (or hard surface) a few times to break the shell - then roll it between your two palms - this will help loosen the shell away from the egg. By doing this - usually the shell comes off in one or two big pieces instead of the many little pieces.

To quickly cool the eggs - remove from cooking pan and run under cold water for a couple minutes. Then let sit in cold water for about 3-5 minutes. The eggs will have cooled enough to peel.
