Diabetic friendly?!

Question:

Diabetic friendly?

my friend mattys 26th birthday is this weekend and me and his girlfriend want to get him a cake but hes diabetic so hes very limited to what he can and cant eat. does anyone have a good recipe for sugarless cake? (if there even is such a thing) we may do half chocolate and half vanilla so everyone has options so that might help. he can eat things with sugar in it (he will down a bottle of southern comfort like nobodys business) but he gets very sick afterwards obviously so we really want to try to avoid sugar as much as possible...this may be a stupid question but if we substitute splenda where a regular recipe says to use sugar would that be ok? we asked him if he can have artifical sweetener and he said he didnt know. please help!!

p.s anyone know any stores that have ninja turtle or possibly transformer cake pans? we tried walmart and craft stores and couldnt find anything :( we're hoping for stores we can go to not order online if possible..we live in MA.. thanks in advance
