How do you get fondant to stick onto fondant??!

How do you get fondant to stick onto fondant??

like when you cover a cake in it and then make a dot or star to go on the side of the cake. how do you get it to stay and not fall off??


Answers:

A little royal icing should do it, or water acts like glue.
