I have a family reunion to attend next weekend, what's a good idea for a covered dish to take along?

I'd like to take something besides the regular potato salad and things like that. Something warm or cold would be fine. I am stumped on something interesting to take. :) Thanks in advance.

Texas Potatoes
1 bag shreaded frozen hashbrowns, 1 can cream of potato soup,1 can cream of chicken soup, 1 medium onion chopped up, 1 8 oz. sour cream, 1 stick melted butter.
THAW hasbrown and mix w/ melted butter and rest of ingridients into a 9x13 baking dish then take 1 sleeve of Ritz crackers and crush them and mix w/ 1 stick melted butter and put on top of potato mixture, BAKE at 350 degrees for 45 min.
