Kool Aid Pickles - Koolickles!?!

Question:

Kool Aid Pickles - Koolickles!?

I saw them on Alton Brown's Feasting on Asphalt and had to try them. Found the recipe online. My students loved them. Some friends really hated them. Have you tried them? What did you think. Ways to use them? I have a friend who will be trying them in her potato salad in place of sweet pickles. Here's the recipe if you want to join in.

Kool-Aid Pickles
(Koolickles)

1 46 oz jar of dill pickles
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
2 packets of cherry Kool Aid
Drain and discard the pickle juice. Slice pickles in half lengthwise. Return pickles to jar and set aside. Mix the Kool Aid and add to jar until pickles are covered. Let soak in refrigerator at least 24 hours – the longer the better. I like to use the giant jugs of pickles and I double the amount of Kool Aid. For Halloween I will be making orange koolickles.

Answers:

I think they are great. I had them as a kid, ice-cold in
the summertime and they hit the spot! Sweet, sour and cold!
I think the Halloween idea is great!

What about an alternate name: pic-kools?
HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR!!!!
