Cooking beans in a crockpot help?!

Question:

Cooking beans in a crockpot help?

I like to cook pinto beans in a crockpot, but the crock pot often gets these brown stains on the side that won't come off, how do I cook beans and not have a stained crockpot?

Answers:

Wash and rinse your beans in cold water. Do it until the wash water is clear. Place beans half an onion, bay leaf, pepper and fresh garlic into crock pot. Never put salt in the beginning. Reason being is that it will make the beans hard. Wait until beans are semi soft then add salt! I love to cook beans like that also. Some times I'll add a ham hock to the pot! Good Eats! LOL...To get rid of those brown spots use a special made scrub pad made for non-stick pans or wait until crock is cold and wash with hot water, soap and Clorox.
