Correct Humidity to keep Cigars?!

Question:

Correct Humidity to keep Cigars?

I have just got a new humidur and am setting it up. It recomends a humidity between 68 to 72% mine is around 75%! Is this ok if not how do i make it less? Or are there different settings for different Cigars?

Answers: No, the humidity is the same for all types: 70% and 70°F (21°C). Avoid putting the humidor near a radiator, even if it's in a display cabinet. Make sure too that the sun don't get to it either.

Best place for a humidor is a wardrobe, as long as the room it's in don't get too hot or cold.

If you find your humidor is too humid, pack a handful of breadcrumbs in a small hanky, tie a knot (kind of making a ball) and put in humidor, should absorb part of the water in the air and it won't give any smell. White breadcrumbs only please, doh!. Source(s):
4 generations of my family worked in tobacco factories. I have no idea but I hope you get some answers that help. Didn't even know you had to keep cigars at a certain humidity so I have learnt something today. Thanks for that. If its new it may be going through a kick starting phase - 75% humidity is fine for you cigars but don't forget to let them breathe a little before smoking.

Check any of the "Plumbing" round the back and ensure that it's on a level surface - that might help even out the temp a little.
