Tomorrow night 80's themed party, need help?
I'm having a party tomorrow night for me and a friend. It's out birthday's and we want it 80's themed because we love it. We've left it very late to organise, we all have our outfits ready but can't seem to find anything to decorate the house, so far we have balloons, 80's music and a table cloth but not much else!! Any ideas would be really appreciated, I know we've left it too late to order from the internet so anything I could mange this evening and tomorrow afternoon would be good. Thanks x

you want HAIR BAND STUFF, like Poison, LA Guns, Ratt, Whitesnake, Great White, Twisted Sister or if you're into other stuff, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Salt N Pepa etc....
Spencer's is a great place to get some decorations. For movies you want The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller, St Elmo's Fire, Gremlins, Ghostbusters or some tv shows like Miami Vice, 21 Jump Street and the like....
you want leg warmers, bandannas, trashy makeup, high hair, bright colors (think Punky Brewster), posters hung diagonally, records or t-shrits on the walls
break out the GI Joes, the Transformers, the Voltron, the Smurfs, LOL
write 867-5309 on the bathroom mirror in lipstick

and know you can have fun without the trapping-the music and friends make the party Go to a second hand shop and purchase some records to hang up on the walls, as well as posters of 80's bands. If you purchase 45 rpm records, with the big hole in the middle, then you could put ribbon through it and hang some from the ceiling. Also, it would be fun, but maybe not possible, to have an old Atari system hooked up to the telly for people to play. If you looked in a second hand shop you might find an old games console. Play lots of Debbie Gibson, Duran Duran, Boy George, Adam Aunt. Oh, and lastly......
Can I attend? Bandannas from the dollar store ( think Brett Michaels from Poison) How fun!!!! I love the 80's!!!!!
Well thats a good idea what a person put on the top about getting posters of people from the 80's like Madonna, Cindy Lauper, Men at Work etc....
BUT
you can go buy some color light bulbs and replace some of the light fixtures!
yes lava lamps would be awesome!
get some paper plates and cups and stuff neon colors orange, lime green etc...
you can also buy animal print fabric and cover sofas or chairs with them...
if you can go to some salvation army or thrift store.... or if you have some old toys... you can also place them around.. like J.I . Joes, transformers, chucky, cabbage patch dollls.. etc..
You can also go to your dollar store or family dollar, dollar general, dollar tree... whatever you have around and see if you can find glow sticks, disco balls.... even if they are small its ok!
Rent 80's movies or music videos and show them on tv ( sixteen candles, ghostbusters, the goonies)
Oh and a good one you can get red lipstick and on the bathroom mirror you can put "for a good time call 555-5555" or whatever number you want.... also you can change the light bulbs in the bathroom to like red or pink!
and also you can make a poster sign neon color poster with black letters and put "Electric Avenue"
all that and with your balloons and your outfits would be awesome!!!
whatever you decide i hope you have an awesome time!!! I was thinking on the same lines as Sassy Gal. The things mentioned in the previous answers were 70's- definitely not 80's stuff. Decorate with old pictures / posters of Bon Jovi, Cinderella, David Lee Roth, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Ratt, Poison, etc. You said you've already got your outfits- but don't forget about spandex pants, blue eyeshadow, and make sure you have lots of Auqanet hairspray on hand.
Oh, I how miss the 80's. go to any music store an get music video's from the 80's lots of ideas off the videos, or go to ant search engine an type in 80's fashions i wento high school in the 84 , have fun
