My mom has a great sense of humor and I need ideas to really make her laugh and have a time to remember forever. I need ideas for decorations, games.....etc. Please help!!!

my mom would love this party lol
im keeping this for mine !!
A sock hop 50's Party Theme !!
Put your poodle skirt on
A 50's Rock 'n Roll Theme Room Party is easy to do and LOTS of fun! All you need are a few 50's theme decorations, 50's music, ice cream sodas and bubble gum!
Happy Days are here again!
Start off by decorating with a classic 50's theme. If possible, have several tables set up to look like a Soda Shop. Decorate the walls with old 45 Records, Rock 'n Roll Banner or 50's Cut-Outs. Use LOTS of balloons! They are an inexpensive way to make any party festive
Elvis or Checked theme tablecloths and paper products (for easy clean up!) will take any room back into the 50's
Clear out plenty of room for dancing and "Rock Around the Clock"! Use a cardboard juke box standee or an inflatable juke box and play all of the favorite 50's tunes!
50's Game Ideas
1. Rock 'n Roll Dance Contest (of course!)
2. Hula Hoop Contest
3. Bubble Blowing Contest
4. Name That Tune Contest
5. Elvis Impersonation Contest
6. Guitar Pinata
50's Contest Prize or Favor Ideas
1. Yo-Yo
2. Jack Rocks
3. Slinky
4. Pink Bubble Gum
5. Rock 'n Roll Bandanas
7. Elvis Sunglasses
The Soda Fountain
Serve up the past with a "fix your own" ice cream sundae or float bar! Provide all the fixings and let guest make their own! Or, have someone on hand to "take their order"...just like at a Soda Fountain. Serve in Black Checked paper cups for easy clean up!
Other treats could include potato chips, carmel corn, root beer and coke.
For a "Record Cake": Bake and ice (or purchase ready made) an ordinary round chocolate cake. Take a fork and make lines all around cake to resemble an old record. Make a circle disc out of cardboard and color to resemble the label of the record and lay in middle of cake!
Have a GREAT Fifties Rock 'n Roll Room Party! i actually wanted to have this idea for myself on my 50th birthday but since it will take more centuries, i good suggestion is that since your mom is 50, why make a children's party? i mean those kids stuffs and everything. it feels like becoming young again. and no gifts should be given, just donation for a charitable institution your mom wants. because 50 year old people is in the stage of generativity vs. self absorption or stagnation, were they tend to do more meaningful work like helping charities and so on. anyhow, regards to your mom and happy birthday to her! I don't have ideas for games, but i do have an idea for a speech. It's called the A-Z of Mom and you basically just find things that go with each letter of the alphabet that relate to your Mom.
Example:
A is for Alcohol - 'i remember a time when Mom was so drunk.......'
B is for bananas - 'It's no secret that Mom hates bananas and the reason for this is.......'
Q is for questions - 'and didn't we ask a lot of those when we were growing up' (list some of the silly stuff you asked your Mom).
You get the idea? Make it really funny though. I did this for my Dad's 60th and it made everyone laugh their heads off. They filmed it and my Dad plays it back every now and again if he wants a laugh. I also involved my other 4 sisters and we did it as sort of a play, each one of us taking turns to read a letter and relay the story that went with it. It was a blast!!
Hope this helps you out. I'm sure your Mom will get a kick out of it. the theme could be ' things that where going on 50 years ago' and have people bring something for they want to share as a gift for the 50 year old person. we did it for my mom and and the gift pretty much worked the party. she really enjoyed it we just threw my aunt a 50th birthday party
she has 4 wonderful children...3 worked all day on the food...and one distracted her all day
we had a karokee party...made a dancefloor...and played her and her husbands wedding song...we had a poster made for her...and had it outside when she pulled up it was there....we done finger foods and stuff...then of course had her cake....
is she a true country girl? lol...if so...try the backyard redneck thing..it normally works....we found a few old friends...and they suprised her.
and if u want to buy her anything....try an angel....write on the card...."you're never too old for the angels to continue watching over you"
ahh my mom is 54 now....we've done everything for her...lol
