Any ideas for a 5th birthday party?!

Question:

Any ideas for a 5th birthday party?

My son turns 5 at the end of October and I'm having trouble coming up with ideas for his friend party. He definitely wants a Thomas the Tank Engine party, so that's at least settled. My problem is just deciding WHERE to have it. I don't feel like our house has any area big enough to hold 10-15 preschoolers plus any parents who may want to stay, at least not comfortably. I would love to have it either in our backyard or at a park somewhere, but I don't feel like I can trust Ohio weather that time of year. Sometimes it's beautiful, sometimes it snows... I wouldn't want to risk it. Does anyone have any ideas for places to hold parties for kids that age? I really need help!

Answers: If you area has a community center or a YMCA you could try that. They usually have kid friendly activities.... Some hotels have meeting rooms that they rent out for day use, usually pretty reasonable prices (some even have indoor heated pools) Also maybe your town has laser tag or a skating rink. Even some toy stores have areas for bday parties like toyr r us.... or your local zoo. See if your childs pre-school will allow him to have a party at school. Then theres the old stand by... Mcdonalds or burger king.. McDonald's, or a bowling alley. The kids can have their desired cake and decor. The bowling alley has the lil' kids lane where they can have a great time and it does not matter what the weather is like. Also McDonald's is very accommodating to kids too. Maybe you could go to the park, or maybe even Chuck E Cheeses if you have one. If you don't want to go out somewhere, you can always do a regular party at home with a theme, like superman or spiderman or whoever your son likes.
