Question:

Does anyone remember the name of a very funny chef who used to be a guest to cookery programs in the early 80s

He may have been greek or italian, he was in his 40s or 50s, not fat, and almost every sentence he spoke used to be very humourous, yet he was a chef not a stand up comedian. Ive tried googling but nothing comes up. i know this is a hard question but i am sure some of you might remember the same man.

Not Graham Kerr, he had a strong foreign accent, thanks for all your answers though The people that have been mentioned are to early to have been on TV in the early 80s. The whole chef thing came later.

Possibly who you are thinking of is Chef Tell. He is austrian or something but being swarthy you might think he was Italian or Greek. He was on pretty much every news show.

He was funny as funny could be. He would do stuff like make some mashed potatoes. He would say I can now charge $2.00. He would take a spoon dipped in water and make a design and say "now it is $5.00". Toss on a sprig of rosemary, $10.00. His watch word was "very simple, very easy".... with a thick accent. Graham Kerr or the Galloping Gourmet I think maybe, just maybe, you are thinking of
the "Galloping Gourmet", aka Graham Kerr.

He was either Canadian, or Australian, or maybe British. could it be Graham Kerr? Justin Wilson? "I GARONTEE !!!!!!!" There was one called Graham Kerr,he was hilarious,he was Canadian, might it have been him? i was thinking Graham Kerr to, cant think of anyone else. Graham Kerr was in the 70s. Perhaps you are remembering Geoff Smith, the Frugal Gourmet. I don't remember him being funny, then he turned out to be very not funny. Yep, Graham Kerr is the one I thought of too. Did the person you're thinking of wear funny ties and suspenders? If so, it was definitely Graham Kerr.

Baccheus, Graham Kerr had a show in the 70s yes, but in the 80s he did "Graham Kerr's Kitchen" as well. Floyd? Graham Kerr Graham Kerr The galloping gourmet??
