Its My Sons 1st Birthday?!

Question:

Its My Sons 1st Birthday?

Its my sons 1st birthday on Saturday and we're having a small gathering of close family around and then in the afternoon all close family are coming with us to Dudley zoo. Afterwards we were thinking of going out somewhere for a drink to celebrate but unfortunatley the local pub is having some entertainment on and is charging £7 for adults and £3 for kids(yep my little one included) so we're stuck for something to do and somewhere to go,its the only pub that lets the kids in.
We live in Bradley,Bilston west-midlands and want to know if there is any where we can go where we can take kids aswell, its not got to be to far but we dont mind having a taxi(although it have to be a minibus as theres 10+) We have my son and then his cousin who is only 9months.
We just want a drink and a chat and a good laugh with the kids around us. Could anyone recommend anywhere pls if not could you give me a few suggestions on what else we could probaly do for that night?

We as a family always go out,if pubs let the children in then thats upto them,we're not forcing anyone! Pubs/resturants are for everyone.
My child goes where I go,if I go out for a drink he comes,he's my family and I wont leave him in so I can have a good night out!
I wanna take him out with me so he can crawl around and enjoy himself rather than going to bed on time as usual.
We as parents wanna celebrate aswell.
I'm not being funny but I only asked if there any ideas for my sons b'day not idiot ppl telling me how to look after my son and how children shouldn't be allowed in pubs. Years ago women wern't allowed in pubs but that changed so get with it,times change and now children are allowed in most pubs due to the fact that most pubs are closing down due to bad trade and also most ppl have kids and nowhere to take them.
If ur not gonna help with good ideas then dont leave a answer. I just wanna celebrate my sons 1st b'day with a nice drink out. His partys in the day.

If ur not gonna help with good ideas then dont leave a answer. I just wanna celebrate my sons 1st b'day with a nice drink out. His partys in the day. if your going to Dudley zoo, then after you can go to the Boston fittle and its only down the road walking distance next to the cinema. its has a balls area aswell at the back for the kids to play or just ave a drink as its child welcome . I go there with my daughter and she loves it. hope your son has a lovely 1st birthday PS its better to take your kids out with you . look what happened 4 months ago i bet the McCain's wished they had took there kids out with them. Get a babysitter before you go for drinks. The kids don't need to be there. Or have drinks at your house. have your sons party at home. dont take him to a pub for his b.day. why not get some family friendly DVDs and have some drinks round someones house.
also, it's so unfair to patrons of a pub to have children inflicted upon them. It would be easier to make drinks at home, you could make some new interesting drinks and put on some good music. I don't think kids should be allowed in a pub. Have the party at home, it sounds too complicated to drag all those people and kids around. Whose birthday is this anyway...yours or your CHILD'S!!!
Taking children to bars (or pubs) is not appropriate.
I have never understood why adults seem to have the need
to drink at children's parties. The parties are for the kids and
what the KIDS enjoy! First birthday's should be celebrated with a cake and a candle. The cake is for putting little fingers in and learning how to blow the candle. It is about pretty balloons and toys that promote learning and singing silly songs, blowing bubbles, finger-painting and having streamers and taking lots and lots of pictures. You are building memories for your family on this glorious event. Celebrate the gift of life! go to any mcdonalds to celebrate bloody hell you will set them all off with this q wont you.. i think the best plan would be to throw a party at home, let him stay up late and have some fun then when the kids are in bed you can all party.. Hmmm well I don't know where you could go out, but maybe you could see if there are any restaurants in your local town that are child friendly.
If not then how about inviting them back to your house, you could get drinks in, and offer nibbles and dips etc, and you can have a nice cake for your son.
Enjoy your sons birthday! Don't worry if you can't find anywhere to go out, staying in will be just as fun :-D This drinking/pub thing must be a cultural thing. Personally I never include alcohol in any minor's celebration. I suppose it is a learned behavior that you can't have fun without a drink in your hand.

Why not go to an ice cream parlor after the zoo? i realize that you want to celebrate as well, but its your childs birthday. His first one to be exact. I highly doubt (if he could tell you) that he would say he wants to go drinking with his folks on his first birthday and crawl around in spilt drinks on a dirty floor. But thats just my opinion. There are many kid friendly places you could go to like a family fun center or carnival. Remember, its not all about you! Who are these people? Don't take your kids into a pub etc, My 2 children were born into licensed premises, and they are fine, they were made to behave though.
Anyway I have been giving this some thought, if you can't find a child friendly pub then I think the best idea is to have an extended party at home. I find it more relaxing anyway and you can really let your hair down.
Have a good one whatever you decide. I am not familiar with the area that you are referring to, but instead of going to a pup, go to one of those types of restaurant that just served drinks and desserts...like a Cheesecake Factory. If you want to take your child to a pup, that is your decision. My son is 7, and if you ask him about his 1st birthday, he won't remember. I personally enjoy the environment at the cheesecake factory than a pup because a big group can all sit in a big table, and talk, and actually have eye contact. If someone doesn't want to have a drink, they can get coffee, or desert. That way, everybody is happy! Do you have to take yr child to the pub for his birthday? Can't you think of something better to do for him than that???? Kids shouldn't be in pubs, find something creative to do in a healthy environment instead! And it's not us who are idiots, it's the people that raise their kids in pubs who are!!!!!!
