http://www.partygamecentral.com... Pimp & Hoe I don't know what you're into, but have a night out clubbing dressed up. Army girls, nurses, policewomen etc.. Have fun.. Go back to college days and do a Toga party........even those that didn't do this in college can easily figure out what to wear. It will be fun!:) Get people to dress up as a film charactor. My friend once suggested buying something in a charity shop for ￡5 and seeing what you could find....should certainly lead to some strange costumes and it's not so bad if your having a party at home and everyone there understands that they're not your usual clothes hehehe...
A girl at my work also had a 'C' themed party where they had to dress up as something beginning with c... she dressed up as a circus act.... A 70s fancy dress as you were born in the 70s it would be fun and people like to dress up, in fact it has given me an idea for mine I'll be 50 in February. That would be a good time of year to have a hawian theme.
Or you could have a back to the 80's party, or even a black-tie affair to symbolize the maturity that only comes after your at least 25! April Fools? That would be cool!

Other themes, always the Hawaiian thing, wear a shirt, and mix up kaluas. A party based on the 70's movie "Logan's Run".

"Renew!" a fiesta if you have 20 guest's write down 20 different fancy dress costumes and put them in a hat, your guest's have to pick one out and MUST dress to what's written on the paper. Well I take it you were born in the 70's so why not have 70's themed party, having all your guests dressed up in 70's style clothing!! Sorry I can't be any more original!! you can do a pirate theme. where everyone comes dressed up as a pirate. or you can do it movie theme......display all your movie covers on the wall and have people dressed up as characters...alcohol prizes for the best dressed?

OH OH OH GOOD IDEA HERE:
A Murder mystory party. You Know like where everyone comes dressed as a certian part and you give them each a scipt writen by a 3rd party that will not bethere. (hint: ask him to give you a list for people also give the rsvp list to ham so he know how many are comming. the whole night would be cool (well maybe the first hour until the murdere is reviled.) lol but you wouldn't so that would you ) You could do an ode to the year that you were born. 1977. Do a disco theme- think "That 70's Show" decor and costumes. I bet eBay has a ton of cool old clothes (tube tops and bell bottoms) and shoes (platforms) and even thrift stores always have some good OLD 70's prom gowns. Polyester, baby!
Get a strobe light and disco ball- the big yellow smiley faces- etc. Play disco music or 70's rock. Play 70's movies on a big screen. Get old pics of you and make a slide show that plays all night.
Google 1977 music and such- then you'll get a better idea.
Might not be your style- but it could be pretty funny.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO! 80s. pirate, hawiian, army, circus, doctors and nurses, services e.g firemen policemen Have Salsa party and as Salsa has a Spanish influence have tapas and sangria. Get everyone dancing by Hiring a salsa Teacher. You will love it. Depending on how "out there" your friends are you could do use the theme that i just used.
Priest and Prostitutes.
I know it sounds a little bit slutty but it was a great night.
The thing that amazed me was the number of guys who turned up as Prostitutes. THe best costume had to go to my mate Kimmi, she turned up dressed as a nun and as the night went on she removed her Habbit and was in full dirty prostitute outfit.
Really fun to let your imagination run wild (and know it didn't end up being a put your Keysinto the bowl kind of party you should dress up as old people that way u will think 30 is pretty young I had a wig party for my 30th....it was a great night how about a burlesque night? it's a little different and imagine how much fun it'll be when everyone starts getting drunk and tries to do sexy dancing :)
