something other than the regular chips and dip and stuff....something like a meal it's kinda like a family get-together my sister and all her friends and my friends!! byut there will be alcohol so i need the right food that you can eat without getting sick!!!! When I throw a party where a bit of drinking will be going on I prefer to do all appetizers. This way people can nibble all evening as they party. Some that I always have are cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, I usually make a batch of homemade salsa and bean dip. Bowls of nuts are nice too. With this I usually will have 2 or 3 meat appetizers like wings, or sausage balls or mini sandwhiches. Its best if you can have things that dont have to be heated, that way you can join the party. You can do crock pots of meatballs in sweet n sour sauce or bbq sauce. Those little cocktail weenies in some sauce are always a hit with the guys. I always try to have an assortment of sweets too, cookies, mini cupcakes, small brownies. Bite sizes, again so people can nibble throughout the party. Keeps from anyone getting too hammered. burger
chips
cola
soda
beer
cake
chocolate cream have a baked potato party... everyone gets a baked potato and a choice of toppings from the "baked potato bar" like cheese, mushrooms, chopped onions, sour cream, chives, bacon bits, salsa etc.

You can pair this with a nice chili con carne or a chicken chili soup and nachos

Yummm... Arroz con pollo. Cheap, easy and delicious. Recipes on line. The saffron is a MUST for this to work. Trader Joe's has inexpensive saffron, which I believe usually costs more than plutonium by weight... I like the little smokies, veggie trays with dip, chicken wings, cheese straws, tortilla roll ups (I prefer with roast beef) Maybe that will help!! Oh yea and fruit with dip! :) fried chicken and french fries or you can just buy kentucky with potato fries what kind of party. It depends on that. You wouldnt want to serve bbq ribs at a formal affair! If you are going to have alcohol, make sure the appetizers and foods are fairly heavy and rich to soak up the alcohol. mexican theme, tacos, taco chips and fresh salsa, sour cream, guacamole
quesadillas, pickles and peppers plate
fresh veggie plate with dip
wraps chilie chips If you're going for easy....

Get a few pounds of barbecue from Whitts or Barbecutie (or whatever you have locally). Buns, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, and chips.

This always goes good with ANY kind of beverage!! Have you thought of a fondue party? There are all kinds of fondues: cheese, oil, chocolate. You prep the foods you'd like to dip into bite sized pieces (fruit, breads, etc.) and it's nice light fare that isn't as heavy as a traditional meal, but is also more social to enjoy. And, it can be healthier than serving processed foods and junk food. It's really fun to sit around the table with good wine and eat all sorts of little morsels....alot of fun for not alot of fuss. Check it out. Fondue pots aren't that expensive. Pigs in the blanket.
